Can I travel to Northern Ireland with a Eurail Pass?

January 30, 2012 By eurailtravels Leave a Comment

The Eurail Global pass covers 22 countries in Europe, including Ireland. Even though the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland are two separate political entities with two separate rail systems, the Eurail pass covers All Ireland. This means if you have a Eurail Global Pass or a multiple country pass which includes the Republic of Ireland, you can also travel to Northern Ireland on the pass.

In the Republic of Ireland the trains are operated by Iarnród Éireann. The national railway of Northern Ireland is operated by Translink NI Railways.
